USPA news features California Polo Club leg of Pacific Coast Arena League

In a celebration of PCAL, California Polo Club, and the Los Angeles Equestrian Center, the USPA newsletter featured the CPC leg of the tournament on USPOLO.ORG, interviewing some of our players to recap the exciting weekend:
CPC member Clay Reed, playing for Slava Polo in the B flight stated:
“The California Polo Club’s leg of the tournament at the Equidome was a highlight—not just because it was the only covered venue (bless the shade), but because of the venue itself. It’s not often that you get an opportunity to play somewhere that has such deep roots in arena polo history.”
With Kat Greenbaum, playing for California Polo Club’s C Flight adding:
“The Equidome has a rich history of polo, serving as the home of the Pro Arena Polo League in the 80s, which elevated polo to the same level that is more often experienced by grass clubs.”
Thank you to the USPA for a great recap, highlighting CPC, PCAL and the long history of arena polo in Los Angeles, read the full article from the United States Polo Association HERE.

Next Week Heat:
Lesson times for next week will be slightly different. Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday at 10am, and Friday at 10:30am. Stay tuned for the weekend
Chukker Attire:
Whites are required for chukkers, no beige or off-white pants, please.
A strong reminder that face masks or eye protection are mandatory during chukkers or scrimmages. For context a player was hit in the head by a backshot this week, and whilst there was no incident, we remind you that polo has its risks. Safety is non-negotiable.
Trash Cleanup:
Please help us keep the club clean. There has been trash left behind on tables and around the grounds and deck recently. Please do your part and use the bins provided.
Punctuality:
There have still been a few chronic late arrivals to lessons. Please plan to arrive early and be ready to ride when your lesson starts.
Chukker Jerseys:
We’re still taking final orders for CPC chukker shirts for the next two weeks. Orders will be placed on August 18. If you haven’t ordered yet, now’s the time!
Mallet Orders:
For anyone looking to order mallets, now is a great time! Our partner Pablo Medina can advise on grip size, flex point and weight. Talk to Katty to get set up and place an order.
USPA Membership:
We request that all chukker players must be full USPA members with “Regular Player” status. The benefits include secondary medical coverage and $1M in liability insurance. We also encourage all lesson riders to become USPA members in the ‘non competing’ category. This also provides medical coverage, plus every member helps strengthen our club’s voting power and representation within the USPA. You can join HERE.
From Katty, and the California Polo Club team
Until next time!
